Halogen Software User Conference Shines Light on Customer Success

Top HR thought leaders and Halogen customers share strategies for addressing key workforce trends; Bright Lights Awards honor stand-out achievement

Halogen Software’s annual User Conference, held earlier this month, in Nashville, was the company’s largest to date, drawing hundreds of customers from around the globe. Set to a backdrop of “Building a World-Class Workforce” customers shared and received valuable insight into talent management strategy and real-world Halogen product success.

The feedback has been enthusiastic. “From the keynotes to the breakout sessions, the Halogen User Conference offered insights and best practices on engaging employees and getting the most out of our Halogen solutions,” said John Derry, Senior Vice President Human Resources, Kansas City Southern Railway. “The level of thought leadership was impressive. I believe there was as much if not more learning for my staff here as at the SHRM Conference or any other industry conference.”

In addition to four tracks covering strategy, customer success, tips and tools and product news, one of the biggest conference highlights was the HR Executive panel. The panel session garnered accolades for providing insight into how organizations can overcome key talent issues, such as addressing skills shortages and retaining top talent.

Halogen Customer Achievements Recognized Through Annual Bright Lights Awards

Three Halogen customers were recognized with Halogen Bright Lights Awards during the conference for their achievement in leveraging Halogen solutions. Awards were presented during a special ceremony at the Customer Appreciation Party held at the Grand Old Opry on September 10th.

  • Bright Bottom Line: OHL, a leading third party logistics provider with more than 6000 employees across 130 locations worldwide, won the Bright Bottom Line award for driving strong ROI from its investment in Halogen. After moving from a competing solution, OHL was able to cut administrative time related to talent management by 50% and improve the overall quality of the review process. The company was also able to quantify how quickly they went from printing thousands of paper appraisals to a green environment using electronic signoff; they saved thousands of dollars each review cycle in the cost of paper alone. With Halogen, OHL has created a stronger, more efficient talent management process that supports business goals and drives results.
  • Brilliant Corporate Culture: International Turnkey Systems(ITS) won the Brilliant Culture award for its success in creating a high performance culture. Doing business in more than 21 countries across Asia, Middle East and Africa, this organization has been faced with the challenge of creating a unified culture for its 2500 employees. The company leveraged several Halogen solutions to drive engagement and focus on goal alignment, ongoing learning and development, and instituting pay for performance. With Halogen, ITS has been able to create an incredibly high performance culture where leadership, innovation and performance are reinforced on a daily basis.
  • Dazzling Implementation: Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) received the Dazzling Implementation award, recognizing the healthcare provider’s highly successful rollout of their Halogen solution to more than 15, 000 employees across 200 locations. The organization conducted extensive training of every leader who held a supervisory role and created a Halogen Command Centre for launch day to address employee concerns. Within hours of launching its new appraisal process with Halogen, HSHS had thousands of employees completing the process with only 30 calls received by the service desk. Of three HR technology implementations HSHS conducted this year, the Halogen deployment was by far the most successful.

Raising Funds for Habitat for Humanity

Building on the conference tradition of creative fundraising in support of global charities, customers also had fun for a good cause. At this year’s conference Halogen customers built a giant real-time word cloud to convey their thoughts on what it takes to build a world class workforce. This activity raised thousands of dollars in support of Habitat for Humanity, a global organization focused on building safe shelter for families that need it the most.
