Recently, my team and I have tripped across some interesting manifestos put out by innovative or ground-breaking companies in a variety of fields.
According to Merriam-Webster, a manifesto is a written statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer.
The Wikipedia definition takes it a step further, saying: A manifesto usually accepts a previously published opinion or public consensus and/or promotes a new idea with prescriptive notions for carrying out changes the author believes should be made.
So we started thinking… What would an HR or talent management manifesto look like? What are the motives or views HR pros would want to publicly declare? What new ideas or perspective do we feel the need to champion with respect to the roles we play in our organizations?
Here’s what we came up with:
If you like what we’ve put together, please share it with your network.
Or download the printable pdf version of the talent management manifesto.
We’ve all put copies up in our workspaces to help remind us of the passion that drives all our efforts.
Now we’d love to hear your thoughts. Is there anything you would add or change? What are the things that make you passionate about your HR role? Do you have a manifesto of your own that you’d like to share?
