Choose the Best Method to Assess and Rate Competencies
Halogen eAppraisal Public Sector's competency management functionality lets you choose to rate competencies:
- Using a short rating scale - "Needs Improvement" to "Exceeds Expectations" - and optional comment for simple competency assessments.
- Using detailed descriptions of the levels of competency demonstration and optional comments.
- Using a matrix to rate competencies with different dimensions and weights. For example, how well was the competency demonstrated, how frequently was it demonstrated, its weight, who observed the demonstration, etc.

Effectively Address Performance Gaps and Build Competencies
When a performance appraisal identifies a need for improvement in the performance of a competency, eAppraisal Public Sector lets managers assign a development plan to that specific competency, giving the employee support and a context for their development.
