Halogen Introduces Employee Performance Management Suite 7.1

New EPM offering makes it easy for organizations to execute on strategic objectives

OTTAWA, ON - June 26, 2006 - Halogen Software Inc., the industry recognized leader in providing Web-based employee performance management (EPM) software, today announced the Halogen Employee Performance Management Suite 7.1. The company's latest offering is designed to meet the growing need for organizations to align and manage their workforce in the day-to-day execution of corporate strategy. Halogen EPM Suite 7.1 offers a practical and easy-to-use approach to goal alignment and management. It also includes new dashboard metrics, enabling organizations to better track and measure progress in achieving organizational goals.

The Halogen EPM Suite 7.1 includes enhanced versions of Halogen eAppraisal and eAppraisal Healthcare, and includes three significant additions: Halogen On-Target Goal Management™, dashboard analytics and web-service tools for integration with other HR applications.

Goal Alignment and Management Improvements
Halogen On-Target Goal Management enables managers to advance beyond SMART, cascading and line-of-sight goal management by linking individual performance goals with organization-centric goals at all levels. This feature also reminds employees to complete their goals on time. Industry experts Knowledge Infusion highlighted this practical and proven best practices approach to goal alignment in a recent white paperi.

James Harvey, Principal Consultant, Knowledge Infusion has found that organization-centric goal alignment is more practical than people-centric goal alignment. "It makes more sense to align individuals with department or organizational objectives, which not only change less often, but are more easily measured," said Harvey.

With Halogen's new On-Target Goal Management, managers can quickly attach employee goals to any organizational goal in the company - from the highest-level strategic goals to cascaded tactical goals at the division, department or team level. Managers and individuals are given a clear view of how their goals map back to specific organizational goals. This allows them to operate with a better understanding of how their day-to-day actions impact the organization as a whole. This addition to EPM 7.1 also includes email reminders of start/completion dates, and graphical status indicators to ensure goals and milestones are tracked and reached.

Dashboards
A visual representation of key performance indicators has been added to EPM Suite 7.1 to provide HR professionals, line managers and executives throughout an organization with the power to identify at a glance, possible exceptions and take immediate actions. They can easily identify employee performance trends, track status of goals and objectives at all levels, identify top performers and more. This dashboard is configurable and delivers content based on an individual's role within the organization. This ensures that managers at all levels always have an up-to-date snapshot of current status and trends relevant to them - and that their strategic objectives are being achieved through the day-to-day actions of their workforce.

Web Service Tools for Integration
Building on Halogen's commitment to support new and emerging industry standards such as HR XML, EPM Suite 7.1 introduces support for Web services. This enables organizations to tightly integrate Halogen software with existing HR systems.
