Halogen Software Ranks Higher in Software Magazine's 21st Annual Software 500
Ottawa, Ontario, December 19, 2003 -- Halogen Software today proudly announced it has moved up eight positions to 481st on this year's 21st Annual Software 500, Software Magazine's list of the world's foremost software and services providers, published as an online catalog on http://www.softwaremag.com/
"IT spending continued to be slow through the period measured by the 2003 Software 500. While the list has changed substantially with additions and deletions, certain niches paid off," says John Desmond, Softwaremag.com's editorial director and publisher. "It was a year for IT professionals to try to salvage ROI from software and service investments they had made, since big new projects were out of favor. Our online catalog to enterprise software helps CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research their partner options. That's a valuable service."
The Software 500 is a comprehensive look at the software industry targeting enterprise IT organizations with software and services. The list includes both private and public companies. The Software 500 is a worldwide list in that it is open to any company to submit financial and product information via the annual Software 500 survey, conducted 100% on the Web with help from The Standish Group, a research and analyst firm based in Yarmouthport, Mass.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2002. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at http://www.softwaremag.com/, as well as from public documents.
"Halogen Software is again honored to be recognized by Software Magazine," says Paul Loucks, President of Halogen Software. "With significant growth in 2003, we look forward to ranking higher on the list next year."
