President & CEO
Leslie (Les) Rechan, appointed Halogen's President & CEO in November 2015, oversees the company's strategic direction and growth as a talent management leader for the mid-enterprise. The former General Manager of the IBM Business Analytics Division within IBM Software Group, Les has more than 30 years in the enterprise technology solutions industry.
Les brings tremendous experience to Halogen, having led fast-growth B2B software companies for decades. Previously, Les was the Chief Operating Officer of Cognos and held a variety of global executive roles with Oracle, Siebel Systems, Cadence Designs Systems, Onyx Software and IBM. Les also serves on the Board of Directors for Cognitive Scale, the Cognitive Cloud Company and PROS Holdings, Inc. a publicly traded software and services company.
Les holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University, and a Masters in Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg Business School.
Vice President, North America
As the Vice President, North America, Sue oversees all aspects of the customer acquisition cycle for Halogen, including market strategy, sales effectiveness, service delivery and customer retention. Sue and her team enable an integrated talent management engagement platform through effective requirements gathering, demonstrations and deployment.
Sue joined Halogen in 2006 on the professional services team where she was responsible for designing and implementing the deployment framework of the Halogen TalentSpace solution. With over 20 years' experience in the enterprise technology solutions industry, Sue brings a strong commitment to customer success and has been fortunate to experience Halogen's growth from a start-up to where it is today.
The role diversity in Sue's career has led to a broad perspective on customer acquisition and retention strategies and tactics. Prior to joining Halogen, Sue was involved in various management roles with successful startups like Kinaxis and Corel Corporation.
Sue holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Carleton University.
Vice President, Sales Operations
Rose is the Vice President, Sales Operations for Halogen leading the company's global field operations organization. In her role Rose oversees revenue pipeline, field training and development, business analytics and inside sales. Rose brings over 20 years' experience delivering business operations related strategies, processes and services in SaaS, OEM and CM environments with a focus on maximizing customer success.
Prior to joining Halogen in 2010, Rose held senior leadership roles at Curtiss-Wright Embedded Computing, BreconRidge Manufacturing Solutions (now Sanmina Technology) and Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (now IDT), where she built and led business operations, customer success and shared services global teams.
Rose is a member of the American Association of Inside Sales Professionals, and is a Certified Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute. She holds honors certificates in Marketing and Business Management from Algonquin College.
Vice President, Communications
Connie leads external and internal stakeholder communications at Halogen. In her role, she works with the executive team and leaders across the company to ensure Halogen communicates and engages with its key constituents in a timely, transparent and consistent way.
Joining Halogen in 2008, Connie served as director of marketing communications for eight years, where she had oversight of the creative services, event marketing, product marketing and public relations teams. Connie has worked in the high tech sector for almost 20 years and has held senior marketing and communications roles at companies including security hardware provider, Chrysalis-ITS, wireless start-up, Spotwave, and business intelligence leader, Cognos.
Connie holds an Honours BA in Political Science from McMaster University, and a Public Relations diploma from Algonquin College.
Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer Paul is responsible for Halogen’s market and brand positioning, leading the team that drives awareness and demand generation for the company’s award-winning solutions.
Paul joined Halogen from ResponseTek, a leading provider of SaaS solutions for customer experience management. At ResponseTek, he led the global sales and alliances team. Prior to that role, he had a long tenure with IBM and Cognos, most recently as the global marketing leader for IBM’s Enterprise Content Management division. During his career at IBM and Cognos, Paul also held key leadership roles in industry marketing, product marketing, business development and sales.
Paul holds a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Acadia University.
Vice President, Corporate Development
Marc has more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. As Vice President Corporate Development, he oversees Halogen's corporate development activities, including strategic partnerships and merger and acquisitions to help fuel the company's growth.
Prior to joining Halogen in 2014, Marc was involved with various startups and was instrumental in taking them from early stage to acquisition. He served as VP of Business Development at BrightSpark Ventures, a next-generation venture capital firm that invests to build and grow early-stage software companies. He then became VP of Business Development at Think Dynamics and was instrumental in the company being acquired by IBM to become part of its autonomic computing initiative. Marc held various positions spanning over a decade at IBM, where he worked on an assortment of acquisition deals within IBM that contributed to the company's revenue and extended its technological footprint.
Marc holds a BA in Communications from the University of Windsor. He also holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from the University of Windsor.
Chief Customer Success Officer
John is Halogen's Chief Customer Success Officer, responsible for helping customers achieve exceptional business outcomes as they deploy and adopt Halogen's TalentSpace solutions – from software to services. In his role, John leads the customer success and professional services teams who onboard customers and promote expanded use of the company's software through continuous adoption.
John is a skilled change agent with extensive knowledge of organizational psychology. He has more than twenty years of progressive leadership experience in consulting and software development across a range of industries. His diverse career experience includes positions as a university professor with specialty applied social research and statistics, vice-president for healthcare solutions with a large telecommunications company, and senior positions in quality, informatics and program evaluation with various healthcare organizations.
John holds a BA and MA in Social Psychology from the University of Waterloo.
Chief People Officer
Dominique has over 20 years experience in the talent management industry and has held progressively more responsible senior HR roles both in Europe and in North America. Dominique has extensive industry experience, having worked in the retail, manufacturing, financial services, consulting and professional services sectors.
The industry diversity in Dominique's career has led to extensive practical experience in organizational change, aggressive growth initiatives, talent and performance management, and international HR management.
Prior to joining Halogen, Dominique was most recently a regional vice president at Right Management, a global talent management consulting firm. Before that, she held senior HR roles with AMEC, MBNA Canada and MBNA Europe, JCB Transmissions, Safeway, and Marks and Spencer, as well as established her own HR consulting business.
Dominique holds an M.A. Honours degree from St. Andrews University in Scotland, as well as the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) certification from the United Kingdom.
Pete Low, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Pete joined Halogen Software as Chief Financial Officer in September 2006, and is directly responsible for the Company's finance and administration, legal, information technology, and security, risk and compliance functions.
With over 25 years of financial management experience, Pete was instrumental in guiding the company through their Initial Public Offering on the TSX in May 2013, and has helped the company grow to almost 500 employees in 6 different countries.
Prior to joining Halogen, Pete was a Managing Partner at Axis Capital Corporation, investing in early stage technology companies. He was actively involved in the strategic direction of many of the firm's portfolio companies, serving as either Chief Financial Officer or a Director for many of them. In 2001, Pete was recognized for his leadership and contributions as a recipient of the Ottawa Business Journal's "Top Forty under 40" award. Prior to founding Axis, Pete was a Senior Tax Manager at Deloitte LLP, servicing its high technology clients. Pete has served on a number of boards and committees of for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Pete is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University.
Vice President, Product Management and Strategy
David is responsible for product management and user experience (UX) design at Halogen and leads the company in defining product strategy and amplifying its future solution vision. With over 15 years as a customer-focused technology leader in high growth software companies, he helps drive technical innovation while building on Halogen’s product strengths.
David joined Halogen from Acquia, one of North America's fastest growing private companies, where he ran global product marketing and helped some of the world’s leading brands build, deliver, and optimize their digital experiences using their leading cloud platform. Prior to Acquia, he led the product go-to-market strategy for a portfolio of over 30 products and solutions for the $750M Enterprise Content Division of EMC Corporation (now Dell EMC), leveraging his earlier experience in engineering leadership roles.
David holds a Master of Electrical Engineering (Software) and a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering from Carleton University.
General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Michael has an extensive background as a senior lawyer spanning 20 years in the technology industry, including publicly-traded multinationals, Internet, telecom and software companies. Michael joined Halogen as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in March 2014.
Initially counsel to publicly-traded software company Delrina Corporation (acquired by Symantec), Michael has held increasingly senior in-house roles at CIBC, Newbridge Networks and Alcatel -Lucent. With Alcatel-Lucent, Michael was Senior Counsel responsible for all worldwide legal matters for the Internet Protocol Division, Canadian Research and Innovation Group, and certain of Alcatel-Lucent's largest customers.
Most recently, Michael was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), which is responsible for the .ca Top Level Domain (TLD). As a key member of CIRA's senior management team, Michael helped CIRA to become the world's fastest growing country TLD.
Michael holds a B.A. (Hons) in History and English Literature as well as an L.L.B from Queen's University.
Chief Product Officer
Karen joined Halogen Software in January 2015 and oversees all facets of how Halogen's products are built and supported – from product conception, management and development to product support. A customer-focused product leader, she brings more than two decades of experience in the high tech industry to Halogen, and extensive knowledge of business analytics and predictive development.
Prior to joining Halogen, Karen was Vice President of the global Business Analytics Business Intelligence & Predictive Analytics Development team at IBM Software Group. In this role, Karen was responsible for the development and delivery of the analytic software that is used in organizations globally to report, analyze and predict their business results.
Karen has also held several other key management positions throughout her career at both IBM and Cognos. As Vice President of Customer Success and Support for the global IBM Business Analytics Support organization, Karen was responsible for facilitating customer success with Business Analytics software. Prior to this, Karen held the position of Director, Product Operations as well as Vice President, Product Marketing at Cognos, which was acquired by IBM in 2008.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto.
