A couple of weeks ago we announced that the City of Henderson (next door neighbor to Las Vegas) selected Halogen to help drive employee engagement and improve service levels. We’re pleased to add the City of Henderson to a growing list of municipal and state organizations that we’re working with to help them meet their organizational goals.

With over 270 000 citizens, the City of Henderson understands the importance of using effective talent management to enhance employee engagement and performance, and in turn support city goals, such as improved services and sustainability. The City will be using Halogen eAppraisal to effectively link individual goals to organizational values, and they will now be able to strategically link employee and departmental goals with core values. This will drive accountability and greater employee buy-in.

When it comes to organizational goals the public sector is primarily focused on service to citizens and other stakeholders. In Henderson’s case, the City is working towards providing better service and value to its citizens by creating an environment where municipal leaders can quickly see how employees are supporting City values. Plus, employees gain a better understanding of how their day-to-day work supports City values.

Another great public sector example of providing service and accountability is our customer Douglas County District School Board. They were highlighted in an article that recently appeared on CivSource Online on Halogen’s work in the public sector, and how Douglas County is driving organization-wide accountability.

I look forward to sharing more public sector talent management stories with you moving ahead.
