Many companies struggle to successfully execute on their strategic operating plan. It’s not that the plan is unachievable or ill-conceived. It’s more that it’s hard to keep the plan top of mind for all employees and to find ways to make it concrete in their everyday work life. How do you translate your strategic plan into concrete goals for your employees and then track everyone’s progress?
In a webinar we’ll be hosting with HR.com on November 13th 2008, Tom Kelly, CFO and CIO at 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment, will share how his company did just that. They used their employee performance reviews as a pivotal tool to communicate corporate and strategic objectives throughout the organization, and then translate them into broad initiatives and departmental projects. They assigned a timeline and measurement to every objective, and use eAppraisal’s reporting capabilities to track everyone’s progress.
The retail market is extremely competitive, and very tough to succeed in, especially these days. At our recent User Conference, Tom told us that while most of their competitors have seen decreasing revenues this past year, 2nd Wind’s revenues have stayed pretty steady, which is quite an accomplishment in our economic times. He credits Halogen with playing a big part in that.
Tom is a very engaging speaker and a sharp businessperson. I’m sure you’ll enjoy his presentation and learn a lot. If you’d like to participate in the webinar, you can register now.
