I promised to follow up on our Web 2.0 discussion and I’m making good…

The Social Networking Conference took place a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve found some good resources from speakers at the event. Shiv Singh of the App Gap has posted his presentation, Web 2.0 and the Enterprise: A Symbiotic Relationship on the blog, free for download. A good general introduction to the benefits and challenges of using social networking in the workplace. In particular he has an interesting perspective on how social media allows each of your employees to act as an ambassador, even a recruiter for your company. Worth a read!

And another, older post I found is a great story on the HRMarketer Blog about how Best Buy used social media to get its employees to take part in its 401K plan. A great story of employee engagement, creative thinking, and results. They asked employees throughout the retail chain to submit motivating videos that would help increase overall 401k participation. As a result, they increased participation by 30%! Good to see that some companies are still focused on retaining their talent base.

And finally, I found a great one-stop-shop post that’s summed up best by its title, “What Does Web 2.0 Mean to HR?” Here you’ll find all the basic definitions to the various 2.0 terms, etc. A great clip and post resource for those just ramping up…

Let us know if you’ve found some good resources – we’ll post them for us all to share!
