Let’s face it, most managers, both new and experienced, aren’t good coaches. Why? They don’t take the time and effort to have those important – positive and not so positive – performance management conversations with their employees on an ongoing basis. Some by nature avoid confrontation; others get bogged down with their day to day workload and lose this focus.

But ask yourself – which employee is more engaged and strives to be your highest performer? The one whose manager only sits down to have an uncomfortable conversation about performance during review season? Or the one whose manager gives them regular recognition, positive affirmation, and timely corrective feedback, and who’s focused on developing their team?

Leadership expert Steve Roesler will explain the importance of coaching and its impact on engagement during a new webinar on August 19th. Joining him will be Melanie Rydalch, Training and Development Manager from Basic American Foods, who will share how an automated talent management system has helped their managers improve their coaching.

Roesler and Rydalch will look at the significant impact that managers’ coaching skills can have on the organization, which in turn drives higher performance for the company. They will also discuss strategies that HR can use to help managers become better coaches, so that they are maximizing and developing talent within the organization.
